The annual Kerry Month of Enterprise (KMOE) was officially launched on Monday, 18th February at Kerry County Council by Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin. Now in its sixth year Kerry Month of Enterprise is a month long celebration of enterprise activities that take place around Kerry throughout the year. The month is a collaborative initiative between IT Tralee, Kerry County Council, Kerry Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland, North, East & West Kerry Development; South Kerry Partnership Development, IDA Ireland, Udarás na Gaeltachta, and IRD Duhallow. KMOE gives established businesses and budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to network and discover the assistance available to them in growing and sustaining a business in Kerry.
The calendar of events for 2019 which can be viewed at www.kmoe.ie includes over 50 events across the month. The county-wide events cater for all stages of business across many sectors from start-ups to established and growing businesses. Pre-registration is required for some events.
The events will cover a broad range of topics such as Succession Planning, Digital Strategy, Business Leader networking, Social Enterprise, Getting Ready for Brexit, and IT Tralee’s Cantillon Conference.
Head of the Local Enterprise Office in Kerry, Tomás Hayes, highlighted all the other supports that are on offer to new-start-ups in 2019, such as grants, microfinance loans, one-to-one mentoring and business advice clinics.
“We need ongoing growth in our county. There are some very exciting developments in enterprise development such as the coastal innovation hubs, and the development of the sci-tech and agri-tech sectors, and we need to look to the future regarding new trends and technology advances. There is a wide selection of events on the programme for the coming month and I hope everyone will engage with them and learn more about what is on offer to enterprises in the county,” he said.
