Universal Design for Learning
Under our commitment to universal design since 2018 we encourage and facilitate MTU staff to embrace Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. In the first semester of each academic year we collaborate with AHEAD in facilitating their national roll out of their Digital Badge in UDL. In second semester TLU Cork campus provide a second opportunity for staff in their localised roll out of the Digital Badge in UDL. Presently on Kerry campus 33 staff have attained the badge with 4 staff having also attained the Digital Badge in UDL Facilitation. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework that sits within MTU's Universal Design ethos. UDL enhances equitable access to effective student experiences for all students and enhances staff experiences of ease of delivery of educational services. The application of the UDL framework within our university is part of MTU strategy and will impact on delivery and receipt of all services, policies and procedures, curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment design and planning. If you would like to learn more about UDL, The UDL Digital Badge or about becoming a UDL facilitator please contact.
