For entry to year 1 of undergraduate programmes applicants must have completed an academic award equivalent to the Levels 4/5 (EQF Level 3/4) on the Irish national framework of qualifications.

Senior High School Diploma /General Senior Secondary Graduation Examination (Huikao) (¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿), including English, Mathematics with an average grade of 75% or above.
West Africa Examinations Council Senior Secondary Certificate Examination as follows –
Minimum of 5 credit passes (3 X B grade + 2 X C6 and above) to include English & Maths.
Maths must be at B grade or higher for Engineering, Science & Computing programmes.
Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority HKDSE exam as follows:
Honours Degree( Level 8): Applicants must have a HKDSE level 4, or higher, in three subjects, and a minimum of level 3 in any other three HKDSE subjects. Where an applicant has chosen other language subjects in the HKDSE, a grade c or higher will be required.
Ordinary Degree ( Level 7): Applicants are required to have a minimum of Level 3 in 5 HKDSE subjects (including Maths and English). Where an applicant has chosen a language in the HKDSE a grade C, or higher will be required

Applicants seeking advanced entry to an IT Tralee academic programme on the basis of prior learning will have their learning assessed within the Institute policy for the recognition of prior learning and applicants are invited to submit evidence of their learning achievements to date to determine the appropriate point of entry.
Institute articulation agreements document pathways between from colleges or universities onto specified entry points on Institute academic programs. Applicants who have attained the pre-determined academic award as can submit an application to avail of the entry point specified in the articulation agreement.
Applicants for a taught postgraduate programmes including Master’s programme must normally have the equivalent of an Irish Level 8 Bachelor honours degree with a first or second class grade (a GPA Grade Point Average of at least 50% of the total available marks) in the relevant or appropriate subject area or equivalent prior learning that is recognised by the Institute for the purposes of this requirement.
