What Do Our TV, Radio & New Media Students Have to Say?
"The TV, Radio and New Media Broadcasting course is delivered by friendly lecturers who know their stuff and are easy to contact if you ever run into problems. Radio broadcasting is the core subject in the Winter semester and we work with the award winning Radio Society to create programmes and inserts that we can broadcast on the college station, Bang FM. The Video/TV side of things is covered after Christmas and again working with like-minded people and approachable staff members gives us every opportunity to create future portfolio material - a crucial element in getting a job in the industry."
Tadhg Ryan, 2nd year student, BA (Honours) in TV, Radio and New Media Broadcasting
"From the very beginning you develop your love for a particular area in the course. My particular favourite was video production. While on work placement I worked with a reputable production company in Cork. On work placement, as time progresses you become more confident, capable and driven to accomplish tasks on your own. My main job was to help with video shoots for companies and to edit 3-5 minute videos. My editing skills improved enormously and before I knew it I was editing videos on my own. I am now continuing to work with the company and progress even more. I now feel excited to take what I achieved and learned to my final year project next year."
